Reps. Randy Hultgren, Bill Johnson Announce Friendly Wager On MAC Championship GameFriday December 02, 2011
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Reps. Randy Hultgren (IL-14) and Bill Johnson (OH-06) today released the following statement regarding their friendly wager on the outcome of tonight’s Mid-American Conference Football Championship Game. The Huskies of Northern Illinois University, represented by Congressman Hultgren, will face the Bobcats of Ohio University, represented by Congressman Johnson.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the Huskies beat the Bobcats tonight to take their tenth conference title,” said Hultgren. “After an exciting 9-3 season led by Coach Doeren, I’m confident NIU has what it takes. Go Huskies!”
“After seeing the MAC East Champion Ohio Bobcats defeat arch-rival Miami last week in person, I have no doubt the team and Coach Solich will bring the conference title back to Athens,” said Johnson. “Tonight’s contest will cap off what has already been an outstanding season by the ‘Cats.”
Per the terms of the wager, the member representing the losing school will give a speech on the House floor next week congratulating the winning team while holding team paraphernalia.
